Volunteering with the Friends

The Friends group has grown considerably in the last five years, increasing its range of activities to cover two of our parks, two railway stations and planting along Hoylake and Meols high streets.  In Queens Park and Parade Gardens we have raised their standard to ‘Green Flag’ status. You have probably seed the transformation of Meols and Hoylake train stations.
As well as caring for the floral displays we do try to hold regular events in Queens Park, these also need volunteers to organise and run them. In Parade Gardens during the summer months we run a tea kiosk for Gardens visitors again volunteers needed to run this.
As you read above there are many tasks are volunteers our involved in, something to suit everyone.
When we have a task to complete, whether it be some basic gardening maintenance, park tidies, heavy work, tea rooms, litter picking, painting, putting gazebos up or cutting a new bed, we send out an email to all volunteers on our database. Those who are available to help at the time will contact us.
We all lead busy lives so do not expect every volunteer to turn up for every job.
